What are Your Top Strategies for Packing Belongings When Relocating?

Stay Organized by Packing One Room at a Time
When relocating, it is a good idea to pack by room – focus on the kitchen, then the bedroom, etc. That keeps things organized so it’s simpler to know where stuff goes when unpacking the new place.
Plus it helps track items so nothing gets lost along the way. Using these tips together really streamlines moving and reduces stress.
Plan Properly and Pack Pack Things You Won’t Need First
One of the most practical tips when it comes to packing stuff for relocation is to start with the things you haven’t used in a while, and won’t be using for quite some time.
For instance, you can start your packing with the books on your shelf (unless you usually take them out of your bookshelf to use as reference), since these can stay inside your sealed boxes for quite a while until it’s time to unpack and display them in your shelf after you have relocated.
Don’t start with the essentials you use often (like kitchen utensils or your clothes) since you will only end up opening the box you have sealed to get what you need to use inside. Packing your stuff if you’re going to relocate requires efficient planning, otherwise, the entire process would be counterproductive and can even end up with you wasting resources like moving boxes and tape.

Start by Decluttering; Decide Which Stuff to Keep
Anyone looking to move should start by decluttering. Before packing, it’s wise to sort through your stuff and decide what to keep, sell, donate, or discard. This way, you can reduce moving costs, make some extra cash for the move, and get rid of stuff you’re no longer using consciously.
Label Your Boxes
This is a crucial step to help your movers to unload the right boxes in the fitting room. If you have some boxes that you want to be unpacked first, label them separately so your movers know which ones they need to focus on. In addition, if you write a list with the items inside each box and stick it on the side of every box, it can be easier for them to identify what is in them.
